Maintenance and support

# Web app maintenance and support that keeps your app running.

Your business runs on the app and you need a dependable team to look after it: monitoring, security updates, backups, fixes, and improvements, month after month.

## What every maintenance plan includes

-
### Monitoring

We watch your app’s uptime, errors, and load around the clock, so we hear about problems before your customers do.

-
### Security updates

Monthly security patches and dependency updates for your app and the servers it runs on.

-
### Backups you can restore

Offsite backups that run on schedule, checked so they can actually be restored.

-
### Fixes and small tasks

Bugs fixed, errors tracked down so they don’t come back, and small changes made from your plan’s hours.

-
### A code audit to start

Every plan starts with an Essentials [code audit](https://velocitylabs.io/code-audit/) in the first month, so we both know what we’re looking after.

-
### Your accounts stay yours

If you ever move on, we transfer every account and all of your data to you.

## Maintenance plans

Three monthly plans. Response times are during business hours, unused hours don’t roll over, and larger work is quoted before it starts. Not sure which fits? [Tell us about your app](https://velocitylabs.io/maintenance/#contact) and we’ll recommend one.

## How a maintenance plan starts

1.
### Tell us about your app

[Book a 30-minute call](https://calendar.app.google/o6hWQt45536m5hUR7) or send us a message, and we’ll recommend the plan that fits.

2.
### We audit it first

An Essentials code audit in the first month shows what we’re taking on, what’s urgent, and what can wait.

3.
### We look after it every month

Monitoring, updates, and fixes as they’re needed, and the work you ask for, within your plan’s hours.

## Questions about maintenance

#How much does it cost to maintain a web app?

Our plans are $750, $1,500, or $3,000 a month, depending on how much developer time you need and how quickly you need us to respond. [Compare the plans](https://velocitylabs.io/maintenance/#plans).

#What's included in web app maintenance?

Monitoring, security patches and dependency updates, backups, bug fixes, and small improvements on every plan. Standard adds framework upgrades and a quarterly health check, and Priority adds new features and a monthly planning call.

#Do you work on a retainer?

Yes. Each plan is a monthly retainer for a set number of hours, billed monthly in advance, and you can cancel with 14 days’ notice. The [maintenance terms](https://velocitylabs.io/maintenance/terms/) have the details.

#What if we need more than our plan's hours?

We quote larger work before it starts, so you approve the cost first. If you often need more time than your plan includes, moving up a plan costs less per hour.

#Why pay for a US-based team?

You work directly with senior developers in US time zones, who know your app and tell you plainly what’s going on with it.

#What happens to our accounts if we cancel?

They’re yours. We transfer every account and all of your data to you.

#Can you invoice us instead of charging a card?

Yes, if you prepay for a year.

#Do you offer a nonprofit discount?

Yes. Get in touch for details.

#Will you sign our NDA?

We have a [mutual NDA](https://velocitylabs.io/downloads/VelocityLabsNDATemplate.pdf) that we’re happy to sign.
