# Velocity Labs Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Velocity Labs (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit velocitylabs.io (the “Site”) or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the Site and respond to you, and we do not sell your personal information.

## INFORMATION YOU GIVE US

When you use a contact form on the Site, we collect the name, email address and message you enter, and the service you pick, if any. The form is delivered to our team by email through our email delivery provider, Resend. We use this information only to respond to you and, if we work together, to manage that relationship.

Please don't send confidential or sensitive information through the contact form. If we start working together, confidentiality is covered by a separate written agreement.

## INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

- **Server logs.** Like most websites, our hosting provider (Heroku, a Salesforce company) records basic request information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to operate and secure the Site and are kept only briefly.
- **Spam and abuse prevention.** To prevent abuse of our contact forms, we temporarily count form submissions by IP address (for up to one hour) and use Google reCAPTCHA v3 on pages that have a contact form. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is subject to the Google [Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and [Terms of Service](https://policies.google.com/terms).
- **Analytics and advertising measurement.** With your consent where required (see [Cookies and Your Choices](https://velocitylabs.io/privacy-policy/#cookies)), we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our advertising leads to inquiries. These services collect information such as pages viewed, how you arrived at the Site, approximate location, and device and browser details.

## COOKIES AND YOUR CHOICES

The Site itself does not set any cookies. The cookies below are set by Google, only for the purposes described:

The first time you visit, we ask whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these cookies are off unless you accept. Elsewhere they are on unless you decline. You can change your choice at any time using the [Cookie Settings](https://velocitylabs.io/privacy-policy/#) link at the bottom of every page; declining also removes analytics and advertising cookies already set. Your choice is stored in your browser and we ask again after a year.

If your browser sends a [Global Privacy Control](https://globalprivacycontrol.org/) signal, we treat it as declining analytics and advertising cookies. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals, which have no agreed standard. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the [Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on](https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

## HOW WE USE INFORMATION

- To respond to your inquiries and provide our services
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to prevent spam and abuse
- To understand how the Site is used and measure the effectiveness of our advertising
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are: your consent (analytics and advertising cookies), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site and responding to inquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

## SHARING

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above (Heroku, Resend and Google) to the extent needed for them to provide their services to us, and when required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or other lawful request, or to protect our rights.

Some US state laws treat using advertising cookies to measure or target ads as “sharing” personal information. You can opt out by declining cookies on the Site or by using Global Privacy Control.

## INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

## DATA RETENTION

We keep contact form messages and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and manage any business relationship, and then as required for our legitimate business and legal purposes. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics account. Server logs are kept only briefly.

## YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and several US states, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy of your information, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

## SECURITY

## CHILDREN

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

## CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above.
