Ten years, one team
-
Before 2015
A staffing business that had outgrown its software
Princess placed temps for dental offices in one local market. The business was ready to grow, but the app it ran on was slow and buggy, and it had stopped improving. Too much of the work was still done by hand. It needed a major refresh, and every practice and candidate had to come with it to the new one.
-
2015
The rebuild
It started with a code audit of the old app, which made the case for a rebuild over more patches. We started rebuilding the platform from the ground up in Ruby on Rails, for temp and permanent hiring of dentists, hygienists, assistants and front office staff.
-
2016
The new app launches
The new Princess went live, and we moved every practice and candidate over from the old app. It texted candidates and offices about new shifts and bookings, which few apps did in 2016. By 2018, Princess had five times the users and three times the revenue.
-
Subscriptions
Tiered monthly plans for practices, from temps only to all access, with a free trial, one account for every office, and no hiring fees. Candidates join free.
-
Finding the right candidate
A searchable candidate database with dental-specific keywords. Candidates set their own wage and choose which offers to take.
-
Nationwide
From one local market to more than 40 cities across the country. We worked alongside Princess’s marketing team to support each new market as it opened.
-
AI integration
AI built into the platform where it saves practices and candidates time.
-
A mobile app
We built the API behind the Princess mobile app and worked closely with its mobile developers through a successful launch. Candidates can manage their schedules and apply for openings on the go.
-
Keeping it current
Many Rails upgrades over the years have kept the platform secure, fast and up to date, without ever starting over again.
-
Today
Over 200,000 temps placed, and still growing
Princess keeps growing, and candidates have earned an estimated $90 million through it. More than ten years on, we’re still its development team, building what comes next.
